King Stays King

You already know whos crown shines the brightest and hangs the tightest. Sickly enticipated Mixtape of Hip Hop crazy generic synth super-producer Timbaland, Mr. Mosely himself is finally out. The Christmas edition and a special gift from the very best man is finally dropped and you really never need to think twice about this legend. Now, if you are still busy opening presents and enjoyin your favorite food on a family table, let me slip you a few first impressions: first, it is something completely different from the usual Timbo, yet fully familiar with the current Hip Hop flow. Totally ill, deep dark tone and a firmly adjustable craft, fitting to any, and I mean ANY type of mood. Timmy went from the doppiest RnBass sounds, to bassy trap depths, the kind that feels the bottomless bottom of your soul.... Trap, trap trap, all over the place, whether it`s behind a catchy RnBass anthem, or kicking in front of the Trap lead, Timbaland covered every corner in the perfect mix with his odd, yet very addictive synth signature notes.

Timbo

In a 17-track project, you can hear the amazing bars from new names like Blaze and Tweezie, then the ringing star names like Rich Homie Quan, 2 Chainz and Migos, and a lot more of other great less known aliases. On the producing side, main author also created a whole Team Timbo producer circle, with amazing guys on them instrumentals, like Ryan Leslie`s revelation amazing producer Kaui, second composer guest Fade Major and the leading Co-Producer and marvelous beat creator Milli.

But, yes, there is still a big BUT, because all the tracks, therefore the whole rhythm of the album project is in a big downtempo, crashed down with this sub-bass darkest notes, which are not all that bad, but looking at the project at the whole picture, still missing that a bit faster Timbo energy, at least some of the leading synths or crazy drum packs to fill in the blanks. But, since the whole Mixtape is done in a collaboration with other new producer forces, it is obvious that the main accent is on so much forced Dark Trap, the young guys are feening to. It just seems like it`s too much of it, like it`s missing that versatility and a touch of a slightly warmer and sunnier side. I love the start the most, the first two tracks are awesome, off course, ther is no mistake with the "Shakin" Aaliyah jam, and the opening single "Get No Betta" with lovely Mila J. After track 5 or 6, starts the Trap Warm Up, and a few tracks downstairs it`s all in the darkness of Trappy super-sub-basses, 808s and the rest of the sub-genre family.

Kaui

Milli

All considered, I am thankful for the yet unpublished vocal of dear Aaliyah and a couple of nice hits to jam to, but other than that, from my perspective, it could go a tiny bit colorful like, to avoid the constant state of flat lining the mood. So to wrap up this review mission, I would definitelly recommend to add this to your Hip Hop golden collection, to always listen for a couple of more times and find your sweet spot, that sugarly creamy piece of cake for your ears this extraordinary maker has made and have a busy music enjoyable weekend.... Until next time....
